The picture at the top is my first business card for my blog that I have designed using VistaPrint. I am pretty excited! If you haven’t noticed, I forgot to insert the letter “b” in the word “blog”. Other than that it looks swell! Speaking of business cards, I recently read a trick in Leil Lowndes’s book called “How to Instantly Connect with Anyone”. I applied Leil’s technique when I gave my business cards to my friends. The technique is to give a business card to a customer by holding it with two hands. “Hold it just a bit higher than usual–not in his or her face–but at a height where he or she could almost read it in your hands.” (35, Lowndes) For others to respect your work, you have to respect your work first. Likewise, when someone gives you their business card, don’t just take it and stick it in your pocket. Look at it for a couple of seconds while you are holding it with both of your hands, then stick it into your pocket. It will not only look genuine but it shows the person that you care and are interested. Plus, you will make them feel valued.
